At one point I had screenshots, dates and little notes in my phone trying to figure out when the energy changed between us. I wish I was exaggerating lol. Dr. Luke finally asked me what all that investigating was actually giving me besides more anxiety. That question pissed me off because I knew the answer. Nothing. I still care about the connection, I just don't spend my entire day trying to decode it anymore.

In separationGetting back into contact was honestly the easy part. Staying in contact without both of us waiting for the next disappearance was harder. The work helped us notice how quickly fear took over a normal conversation and turned it into 'here we go again.' We had to learn how to say what was happening instead of pulling away first just so we couldn't be the one left. That changed a lot for us.

Reconnection & unionA four-hour gap between texts could ruin my whole afternoon. Not because anything had actually happened, but because I would fill those four hours with every possible ending. The lessons helped me catch the moment my body went into panic before my mind started building the story. Once I learned how to deal with that first part, I stopped needing him to constantly prove we were okay.

Triggers & fearI had turned surrender into a full-time job 😂. Tarot in the morning, checking for signs all day, scripting at night, then wondering why I felt completely drained. What I learned here is that I was still trying to control the outcome, I had just made it spiritual. That was humbling as hell. Real surrender for me started looking a lot less exciting and a lot more like living my own life again.

Chasing & controlI kept telling Luke I just needed to know if she was coming back. He kept bringing me back to why I needed that answer so badly. Eventually I had to admit I wasn't only missing her, I was terrified that her choosing somebody else would prove every ugly thing I already believed about myself. That's what I actually had to deal with. The separation stopped feeling like a verdict on me after that.

Healing & self-worthI knew all the words. Inner child, abandonment, self-worth, triggers... I could explain my whole childhood and still fall apart when he pulled away. Twin Flame Restoration was the first time I actually saw how those old wounds were showing up in what I DID, not just how I felt. Chasing, overexplaining, trying to be perfect so he wouldn't leave. Knowing where something came from and changing it are definitely not the same thing.

Healing & self-worthHe sent me 'okay.' That's it. Four letters. Somehow I got from 'okay' to 'he's done with me forever' in about 90 seconds bahahaha. The material on emotional reactions made me realize how often I was responding to the meaning I added, not what was actually said. I still catch myself doing it sometimes, but at least now I know when I'm arguing with a story I wrote myself.

Triggers & fearI had about six different reasons why reaching out 'didn't count' as chasing. Birthday. Mutual friend. Song she would like. Something I 'randomly' remembered. Dr. Luke basically laughed and said, 'Devon, come on.' He was right. I was trying to manufacture contact while telling myself I was respecting space. Once I saw that, I couldn't really unsee it.

Chasing & controlI thought being aligned meant I'd eventually be calm all the time. Definitely not what happened lol. The body work taught me that I can feel jealous or scared without immediately DOING something about it. I don't have to check, text, pull a card, make a decision or declare the whole journey over just because I had a bad hour.

Triggers & fearI'm 62 years old. I have raised children, changed careers, buried both my parents and handled things a hell of a lot harder than a man not texting me back. And yet there I was completely wrecked by it. This work helped me stop being embarrassed by how much the connection affected me and start asking what it was touching inside me. That was a much more useful question.

Healing & self-worthI thought most Twin Flame advice online was nonsense. Still do, if I'm being fair. Luke got my attention because he wasn't promising me some five-step way to make her text me by Tuesday. He kept pointing out how much of my life I was organizing around an outcome I couldn't control. A few months later my daughter said, 'Dad, you don't stare at your phone anymore.' That probably meant more to me than anything.

Chasing & controlSilence was the worst thing for me. If I didn't hear from him for a couple days my body acted like something terrible had happened even when literally nothing had happened. The exercises around slowing down and checking what was actually true helped a lot. Sometimes the only true thing was 'he hasn't texted me today.' Everything after that was me predicting the future.

Triggers & fearDr. Luke never made me feel stupid for believing the connection was real, which mattered because I'd already had enough people roll their eyes at me. But he also wasn't going to tell me every song on the radio was a message from the universe. That balance was exactly what I needed. I trust myself more now and I don't need somebody interpreting every little thing for me.

Inner unionI didn't realize how much 'earning love' was running my Twin Flame journey until I went through the course. If he pulled back, I became nicer, more understanding, more available, more spiritual... basically auditioning for a relationship I was already emotionally exhausted by. Seeing that pattern was awful and also kind of freeing. Love shouldn't require me to perform 24/7.

Healing & self-worthMy whole day was built around him without him even being there. I'd wake up wondering what he was feeling, go to bed wondering if union was closer and spend everything in between checking the connection in my head. The work kept redirecting me back to my own life until I realized how little of one I actually had left. Getting my attention back felt like getting my personality back.

Inner unionI had a timeline. An actual timeline. Dates we separated, dates she came back, moon phases, what happened before every shift... yeah. I was trying to reverse engineer the connection like it was a machine. The lessons finally got me to notice that analysis was the thing I used so I wouldn't have to sit with uncertainty. Once I saw that, the spreadsheet started looking a little ridiculous hahahah.

Triggers & fearMy first thought was honestly... a guy is gonna explain my Twin Flame connection to me?? 🙃 Sorry Dr. Luke hahaha. What got me was when he pointed out that I kept calling everything 'unconditional love' when half the time I was just terrified to have a boundary. I had made self-abandonment sound spiritual. Ouch.

Starting aloneDuring separation I was drinking most nights because it was the only way I knew how to shut my brain up. I kept telling myself the problem was that I missed her. The healing work made me realize what I really couldn't sit with was feeling rejected and replaceable. That's a different problem. Once I started working on THAT, I wasn't fighting myself every night the same way.

Healing & self-worthFor me, compassion had turned into explaining away everything he did. He's scared. He's triggered. He's running. He's healing. I had an explanation for ALL of it. What I learned here is I can understand someone and still decide something doesn't work for me. That sounds so obvious now, but I really thought boundaries meant I wasn't loving him unconditionally.

Inner unionI work in mental health, so of course I spent the first few weeks evaluating the material instead of actually applying any of it to myself. Occupational hazard. The nervous system pieces were what got me because I could literally watch myself intellectualize a trigger while my body was still completely activated. Knowing why you're freaking out and actually knowing how to come back down are very different skills.

Inner unionAt 73 I did not expect to be learning anything called a Twin Flame journey. Life has a sense of humor, apparently. The separation brought up grief and fear in a way I couldn't explain to anybody around me. The course gave me somewhere to actually make sense of what I was experiencing without feeling foolish for it. More than anything, it helped me stop waiting for another person to decide whether my life could feel full.

In separationWhen she said she needed space I did the exact opposite. Calls, paragraphs, voice notes, 'just one last thing' about 14 different times. Luke finally said the thing I didn't want to hear: I wasn't giving her space, I was trying to negotiate her out of needing it. That changed how I looked at the whole separation. I stopped trying to win every conversation and started dealing with why silence made me panic so much.

In separationI spent most of my life believing love meant being the person who asks for the least. Then I met this man and somehow turned that habit into a spiritual virtue. The work around boundaries made me realize I wasn't being 'unconditional,' I was scared that having needs would make him disappear. I'm still learning this one. Apparently 69 is not too late to stop being everybody's easiest person.

Healing & self-worthI stopped texting him and thought that meant I had stopped chasing. Meanwhile I was still waking up every day thinking, 'is today the day he comes back?' hahaha. The exercises made me see that no contact can still be completely centered around the other person if your whole life is secretly waiting. I started doing things because I wanted to do them, not because I thought they would somehow make union happen faster.

Chasing & controlWe had spent so many years going in and out of each other's lives that when we finally stayed in contact, neither of us really trusted it. We were almost waiting for the next separation. The lessons helped us slow things way down and stop assuming intensity automatically meant we knew how to build a healthy relationship. We had to learn the boring stuff too. Listening. Saying what we needed. Not disappearing when something felt uncomfortable. That's what made this time different.

Reconnection & unionI came in wanting to know what HE needed to change. I could've made you a PowerPoint on it lol. This work was irritating at first because it kept turning the camera back toward me. Where was I abandoning myself? What was I tolerating and then resenting? What parts of my life had I frozen while I waited? I still have opinions about what he needs to work on, trust me. I just don't need his growth to be the condition for mine anymore.
